Christmas gnome

"You can't promise too much," Grandpa Patson thought more than once when he promised Findus's cat that a Christmas dwarf would come to them on Christmas Eve. "There are no dwarves in the world." But then, secretly from the cat, he decided to make a dwarf who could move and talk. But he was soon forced to admit that he had undertaken an impossible task.
Those few weeks before Christmas were very unusual. Patson spent most of his time in the carpentry shop, thinking and tinkering, so Findus felt as if he had been abandoned. And he wondered who was that bizarre little grandfather who visited them? Nevertheless, his dwarf came to Findus - exactly as he wanted. Patson could hardly have imagined that his invention would work so well.
I wonder just what actually happened ...
